U.S. IPO Activity Most Since 2000

IPO activity in the U.S. reached its highest level in 2013 since the record year of 2000. In total, 222 companies went public in the U.S. in 2013, raising nearly $55 billion, according to data from Renaissance Capital.

This, however, only represents 57% of the proceeds raised in the year 2000. We still have some way to go to reach these peak levels, which are unlikely to happen any time soon.
