Did you know that the world’s richest 1 percent control almost 50 percent of ALL global wealth!

This is a quite staggering figure and extremely shocking. Other findings recently highlighted by Oxfam International include:

The richest 85 individuals in the world control as much wealth as the poorest half of the world’s population — i.e. that is 3.5 billion people!

Since 1980, the richest 1 percent of the world’s population have increased their share of national wealth in 24 out of 26 countries studied.

Only 30 percent of people live in countries where economic inequality has not increased over the past three decades.

95 percent of post-financial-crash wealth generated (i.e., since 2009) in the U.S. went into the bank accounts of the richest 1 percent.

90 percent of people in the U.S. control less wealth in real terms than they did before the financial crash.
