America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) recently explored the significant economic opportunities that natural gas development presents for the US economy both now and in the future.

Some highlights include:

  • By 2035, ANGA cites 1.4 million US jobs will be added due to increased development of US shale gas reserves.
  • By 2015, ANGA expects shale gas to represent 43% of total US natural gas production;
  • By 2035, ANGA expects shale gas to represent 60% of total US natural gas production;
  • In 2010, shale gas represented only 27% of total US natural gas production.
