U.S. oil production in 2014 increased to the highest level since record-keeping began in 1900


  • According to the EIA (in April 2015), U.S. oil production in 2014 rose by 1.2 barrels per day (bpd) to 8.7 M/bpd.
  • On a percentage basis, 2014 output increased by 16.2%, the highest rate of growth since 1940.
